Meghan McKown

Meghan McKown is a straight-ahead jazz vocalist with a distinctly modern sound performing in the Chicago area. A wonderfully expressive vocalist, she brings her own fresh approach to everything she sings. Her tone can range from rich and soulful to clear and pristine. Meghan received a B.A. in Jazz Studies from Michigan State University in 2004. She has performed with the legendary Jon Hendricks, as well as other great jazz talents including bassist Rodney Whitaker and trombonist/composer Wycliffe Gordan. Meghan currently performs with the highly acclaimed Latin jazz ensemble, Rio Bamba. Her voice has been praised in Chicago Jazz Magazine as “sexy and beguiling”. Her vocals have been compared to Carmen McRae, Sarah Vaughan and Susan Tedeschi.
